Church Planters

My name is Adam Young and alongside my wife, Alaina, we have been in partnering together in ministry for almost 7 years. Originally both from Oklahoma, we met and married while attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, where we lived for several years and worked for Lifechurch.tv. In 2007 we received a call from a church in Littleton, CO and initially told them we would not join their staff. We knew God was moving in our lives and had a new journey before us, but we were in the middle remodeling our first home and getting ready for the arrival of our first child. As God's spirit continued to move we knew that He was leading us towards Colorado, so after much prayer and some "timeline" negotiations with Ken Caryl Baptist Church, we began a new journey here in Littleton, CO. We have seen God do some big things in the life of our church and in our own lives as we invested into the Littleton community, added a new baby girl to our family, and purchased our own home.

More than anything else, God has given us a heart for the people of the Denver Metro area. With over 2.4 million people and projected to rise to 4 million in the next 25 years, more than 90% of the residents have no relationship with Jesus Christ.  What is perhaps more heartbreaking is that there is less than 1 church for every 2000 people in the city and of those established churches almost 80% are either plateaued or declining in attendance and impact.

Since the time Alaina and I were engaged and preparing for a life of ministry together, we have dreamed about the plans God has for us and how He would use us to make an eternal impact for His glory. Several years ago we began feeling God's call on our lives to plant a church. However, at the time we loved the ministry role He had given me, we loved our church, and we loved our community. We wanted to follow God's lead but we didn't want to leave where he had recently brought us. After nearly 5 years of serving God with Ken Caryl Church, we now see a clearer picture to what God is leading us. Rathering than leaving our current church, we're partnering with them; rather than leaving our community, we're diving full force into it.

This is the journey of how Alaina and I are discovering our "element." Joining God in His work in establishing Element Church.
